Shirell Newson brings more than two decades of experience in business strategy, financial growth, entrepreneurship and community-focused leadership. Through Legacy Builders Empire LLC, her work is centered on meeting business owners right where they are—whether they are taking the first steps toward entrepreneurship, working to stabilize and strengthen an existing company, or already generating significant revenue and looking for the strategy, capital positioning and infrastructure necessary to reach the next level.

The vision behind the High Desert Faith & Business Alliance goes beyond the success of any one business. It is about building stronger bridges between faith leaders, business owners, entrepreneurs and community leaders so that local resources, opportunities, jobs, relationships and economic activity can circulate more intentionally throughout the High Desert. When businesses grow, they create opportunity. When families and entrepreneurs become stronger financially, they have greater capacity to support their churches, ministries and community organizations through tithes, offerings, donations and local investment. And when those institutions become stronger, they can serve more people.

The High Desert Faith & Business Alliance is rooted in a belief that some of the greatest resources our community needs are already here. Our pastors are here. Our entrepreneurs are here. Our businesses are here. Our organizations are here. Our talented workers and families are here.

What we need are stronger bridges between them.

Faith leaders hold a unique and important place in our communities. Pastors do more than lead churches. They counsel families, encourage entrepreneurs, pray with people through difficult seasons, celebrate their victories and often have a firsthand understanding of the challenges facing the people they serve.

The Alliance creates an opportunity for those faith leaders to sit directly with business owners, entrepreneurs and community leaders—to hear what they are facing, understand what they are trying to build, pray over their businesses and families, and help create relationships rooted in faith, trust and a genuine desire to see one another succeed.

Business owners should have a place where they can talk about more than revenue. They should be able to talk about the pressure of leadership, the uncertainty, the decisions, the vision, the obstacles and the responsibility of employing people and supporting families. Sometimes, they simply need someone willing to pray with them and remind them that they do not have to build alone.

There is also a powerful economic opportunity when we intentionally connect the people already living, worshiping, working and building in the High Desert.

Local businesses grow.

They create jobs and opportunities.

Local residents earn more.

Families become financially stronger and have greater ability to support the businesses, organizations, ministries and causes they believe in.

Congregations become economically stronger.

As individuals and business owners prosper, churches can experience greater capacity through tithes, offerings and charitable giving—resources that help ministries grow, serve families, support outreach and continue investing in the community.

Those churches and organizations can then help strengthen even more people.

And the cycle continues.

That is what keeping more of our economic activity circulating within the High Desert can accomplish.

This is not about choosing profit over purpose.

It is about understanding that economic strength can help fund purpose.

When businesses prosper responsibly, they can employ people, support families, sponsor community programs, give generously and invest locally. When families become stronger, they can contribute more to the organizations and ministries they care about. And when churches and community organizations have greater resources, they can expand the work they are already doing to serve people.

Everybody has an opportunity to grow together.

Shirell also brings her own business expertise to the table.
